Article by Tommy Groman

Your home is a paradise, the best place you can be. It is your sanctuary, your place of refuge. But at times, it can also get you down, especially when you are allergic to it. Common allergens like dust, pollen, pet dander and molds can be right inside your home. And since it is not possible for you to keep out of the house, then you should be aware of what you have to do to protect yourself. Your problems with allergies can be managed using an approach consisting of two aspects – applying remedy to the symptoms and identifying the root of the allergic reaction so you can prevent your exposure to it. To determine the main cause of the allergy, you have to take away all the potential allergens and check if your reactions go and then expose yourself to each suspect and see if the reaction comes back. When the allergen has been singled out, try to avoid it. When it comes to the treatment of the symptoms, you can take the doctor’s prescription or you can use some home remedies.

One of the most potent natural treatments for allergy is honey. Raw honey can be taken in to increase the body’s resistance and keep infections and allergies away. Another means of alleviating the suffering of allergic people is to drink a 1 to 2 cups of green tea. Green tea has natural antihistamine that offers fast allergy relief. You can also make use of ginger which has natural antihistamine and decongestant properties. Fresh pieces of ginger can be incorporated in stir fry recipes or can be combined in your tea drink. Similarly, lime can be a potent treatment to allergy. This can be done by squeezing half a lime in a glass of lukewarm water, then sweetening the drink with honey. You can take it first thing in the morning everyday, for several months. But then again, this is not recommended for people with allergy to citrus fruits. Vegetable juices like 500 ml of carrot juice can also help alleviate allergic symptoms.

Apart from these home medications, you also have to give considerable attention to practices that can aid you in preventing allergy attacks. One of the best ways to keep allergens out of your homes is to keep the house clean and dry. Through this, you can eliminate dust mites and pet dander and prevent growth of mold. When gardening or cleaning, be sure to put on mask to filter dust and other allergens. If you have been outdoors the whole day, take a night bath to wash away pollens and other particles that may cause allergy.

When you enter a hospital, the first thing you come across is the smell of medicine. It almost makes you sick. Hospitals are supposed to stay one level above any other place when it comes to cleanliness. The smell in a hospital is a sign that the building requires an air purifier more than an air conditioner.

So what kind of an air purifier should a hospital opt for?

Sensitive procedures are often performed in a hospital. While operations are being performed, diseases like Hepatitis E and others can get transferred from the patient already been infected, to the next one in line to be operated. Of course, the hospital staff tries its best to clean up after every operation, but many contaminants like CAC’s (micro-organisms), VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) etc. still remain behind.

Only an air purifier with a HEPA filter can kill contaminants that can cause intensive damage during an operation. This is the reason why medical grade HEPA filters with advanced protection from VOC’s are widely utilized in hospital operating rooms and laboratories.

HEPA air purifiers can be expensive. But the less expensive air purifiers that are ‘HEPA-type’ make no difference if pure indoor air is what you really want.

HEPA filters are regarded as the most effective brand of filters available in the market. The AirMedic Exec from Oxynet Solutions uses medical-grade HEPA technology and a carbon filter that is uniquely engineered to provide advanced filtration. Oxynet Solutions sells, installs and services some of the finest air cleaning machines in UAE.

Oxynet Solutions is an air purifier company, knowledgeable in creating cleaner and healthier environments. We work hard to develop air purifiers that are as inert as possible offering people suffering from respiratory related diseases their best chance for relief.
