Question by latinamatchmaker2004: Where can I get/find some holistic allergy relief?
I am asking this for myself and my sister. Both of us have horrible Spring/Summer allergies to pollen, mold, mildew, grass…all the usual culprits.
So my question is, what are some natural/holistic remedies we can use to have some relief–even if it’s just 2-3 hours of temporary comfort? Me, I sneeze so much most mornings, I throw myself into asthma attacks and I get horrible headaches.

Certain food additives, including nitrites and some food colorings, are also common headache triggers. Like tyramine, these additives may increase blood flow to the brain causing headaches in some people. It is not understood exactly why this happens. Some foods that cause a headache after eating are:
Blue cheeses
Brie
Cheddar
Stilton
Feta
Gorgonzola
Mozzarella
Muenster
Parmesan
Swiss
Processed cheese

Before anyone asks, I have an appointment to take my dog to the vet in a couple days. But he is scratching himself and licking himself so much I feel like I need to do something to help relieve some of the itchiness until then. He is an Australian Heeler/Pit mix and from what his owner told me (I’m sitting while the owner is away), he had severe allergies to cedar and cottonwood. But we now live in an apartment in the city, so I’m not sure it’s an issue. I haven’t changed his food in 5 months, and the itching only started a few weeks ago and is getting worse. He gets his baths with oatmeal shampoo. I have some antibacterial spray from the vet, but it didn’t seem to help the itching. Any ideas for some home treatment?
He has flea treatment every month, his last dose was two weeks ago.

Ok, night after last I got home from a show and my sinuses started hurting, almost burning, really, and it started to move down to my throat. I have horrible allergies and had a little to drink, plus the fact that i walked like 3 miles in order to get home, so I figured it was nothing. Well, here I am two days later. The pain hasn’t really gotten any worse, in fact it comes and goes as it pleases, but now my eyes are watering this mucousy stuff, it started last night. Both of my eyes are swollen, the right one is worse, and I feel like crap. Having back and neck pain, as well.
The point of all this is two fold: to see if anyone has any advice on how to get rid of this quickly and if anybody out there knows any nifty pain relief options? AND to see if anyone thinks I should go to the hospital and get checked out, because it is painful. Any help would be much appreciated, mostly the natural kind, like a good tea or supplement I could take to help me through.
I do not have a primary care physician, so i would have to go to the ER if I wanted to see a doctor.

I have chronic hives that have worsened over the past 2 days. I have been eating very basic things like toast, and drinking water in case it is a food allergy. Some days eating little to nothing. I have been to the doctor once and received a steroid treatment that did not help. I cannot get into my doctor again for another week, and I need some relief.
I have also switched to hypo-allergenic products such as laundry detergent, and soaps, to eliminate a potential chemical sensitivity disorder.
I am so itchy I am crawling in my own skin, and I have huge, unattractive hives covering my arms and legs. I have been using a topical benadryl as well as a large dose of anti-histamines as recommended by my doctor. A cold bath can’t even sooth this itching.
ANY recommendations would be greatly appreciated, I will honestly try anything at this point.

Asthma is the seventh-ranked chronic health condition in the United States and the leading chronic illness of children. It is a chronic inflammatory disease that makes airways (bronchial tubes) particularly sensitive to irritants.
During an asthma attack, tightening of the smooth muscles around the bronchial tubes causes them to become inflamed, narrow inside, and produce excess mucus. This makes it difficult for air to pass in and out of the lungs and decreases the oxygen levels in the blood. A person suffering from an asthma attack has a sensation similar to drowning.
