Allergies occur when your body over-reacts to normally harmless substances. Your immune system typically saves its efforts for fighting off bacteria or viruses. But, when you have allergies, your immune system is reacting to pollen, dust, mold, pet dander, or other substances instead. You can reach for over the counter medications or you can try one of the natural remedies below.
More than 35 million Americans are affected by seasonal allergies every year. Seasonal allergies occur anytime from early spring to late November, and allergens include pollens, grasses and airborne fungi. Antihistamines are the most common treatment used for allergies, but they only block symptoms and do not resolve the underlying cause. Treating seasonal allergies with natural remedies works gently and effectively.
Symptoms: – The effects of seasonal allergies can vary from person to person because individuals may respond differently to the same pollen type. Some may react to pollen with an itchy nose and dry, swollen nasal passages. If these symptoms are bad enough they can lead to nosebleeds and sinus headaches. Another common reaction to pollen is itchy, watery eyes. Redness of the eyes will also typically accompany these symptoms. In addition to the symptoms of the nose and eyes some may experience skin rashes (or hives) and itchy skin.

If you suspect you have allergies, your family physician may refer you to an allergist to find out what triggers your allergic reactions. The allergist will perform a number of tests and ask you several questions about your symptoms. Once the allergy-causing substance or allergen is identified, your allergy remedy may be a self-care treatment or use of medications depending on the nature of the problem.
The best allergy remedy is avoidance, which means avoiding the substance causing your allergic reaction. By avoiding the allergen you may not have a need for medication. Be careful to keep in mind that avoiding foods such as peanuts means avoiding all products containing peanuts or peanut oils.

Allergy is a chronic disease which occurs when the immune system of the body does not destroy the invaders who enter into the body. This if not treated at its initial stage then it paves a way to other chronic disease.
When the immune system of body overreacts to a normally harmless substance or realizes anything as foreign to the body. The antibodies which are present in body attacks these invaders and tries to suppress the invader. The inflammation which causes is called allergy.

I’m looking for relief from my horrible allergies. I say horrible, but they’re probably not any worse than any of Oklahoma resident. I just recently moved here, and I sick of being sick with congestion ALL the time!!! I’ve tried all the over-the-counter crap – none of it works! Does anyone know of any natural remedies that really work?

My 7 yr old daughter suffers from seasonal allergies.
I currently give her Bio Allers Hayfever/Pollen remedy and Dr. Frank’s allergy relief oral spray and vitamin C.
I also give her claritin(ped. recommendation) at bedtime to help her sleep but it seems like its no longer helping her as well as when she initial started it in very early May.
Her symptoms consist of red itchy eyes, they even tend to get puffy, sneezing, stuffy nose in morning, a couple small nose bleeds(right nostril) and a cough that is most bothersome for her at bedtime.
Nothing that I’m currently giving her is helping her cough or her eyes that well.
Please, only those familiar with homeopathy or homeopaths need to answer.
Thank You in Advance!
FYI for those answering my question without supplying any valid useful info that I can use-I was RAISED on homeopathy and as an adult, I STILL use it for myself as well as my family.
I have enough experience with it both as a child and now to know that it does work. So stop wasting your time, unless you’re just doing it for the extra points.

Is your dog sneezing and rubbing his eyes with his paws? If your answer was YES, there is a good chance your pet has allergies. They are no different from you and me. They can suffer from all types of allergies including food, environmental and seasonal. If your pet is scratching, itching and sneezing there are home remedies that can help to relieve these symptoms and alleviate their suffering.
Giving your dog a bath in cool colloidal oatmeal will help to soothe the itching. A dog that is constantly licking and scratching at his paws could be experiencing the affects of allergies. A cool bath with Epson salts can help relieve the itching. Do not allow him to drink the water. You may need to change your dogs’ diet. There is a chance that he is reacting to one or more of the ingredients in his pet food. If you are feeding him table scraps, this could be another reason. Not only does this have the potential to cause his allergies, it can also mess up his digestive system, which will lead to other problems. Try to watch his routine throughout the day. There is a chance you will see him react to something, either in the house or out in the yard. Consider the possibility that he is allergic to his bedding. Some dogs have an allergic reaction to cottons and wools. If he starts to experience a reaction when he is on his bed, you will want to change out the bed or type of fabric that covers it.
