The 3M Air Purifier

If you are a person that suffers from asthma, allergies, COPD or other airborne illnesses caused by pollutants, then you need an air purifier for your home. Air purifiers are, just as their name implies, machines that clean the air and make it pure enough to breathe safely.

As a company that has been successful in the air filtration business since 1902, the 3M Company makes several models of air purifiers to suit every situation. The 3M Filtrete system cleans the air for allergy sufferers. It is the solution to airborne pollen and dust. The fibers of the filter are designed so that they build up an electrical charge as air passes over them causing the small particles of pollutants to stick to the fibers. The fibers are space father apart permitting higher air flow which means a more cost efficient system. If you have allergies to dust, pollen or pet dander than you should use the 3M Filtrete air filtration system.

I know air purifiers help clean air, especially for those who have allergies. But I am wondering if it works to help prevent getting flu/cold by purifying the air? I normally get sick during winter season because of the people around me get sick and so they spread the bacterias. Can an air purifier help to clear the bacterias in the air, so to increase the probability to prevent from getting sick?

If it is so, do you recommend any air purifier? Preferable economic and good one :P

Allergies affect many people year round, which can make normal activities difficult and wreak havoc with your quality of life. Some allergies are triggered by your own internal defense mechanism, while others develop with age as the immune system weakens due to environmental factors or an existing medical condition.

The air we breathe is the primary carrier of allergens, germs and bacteria that are found all around us. For example, they can be embedded in carpet fibers, circulating in the air space that we share with someone who is suffering from an infectious illness like a cold or the flu, and also in the airborne dust particles that float about constantly.

Did You Know?

Asthma and other allergic diseases have become increasingly prevalent, affecting over 50 million people, or more than 20 percent of the population.

Asthma is a chronic illness that affects over 22 million Americans. Asthmatics suffer from constricted, sore, and inflamed airways that are highly sensitive. As a result of this sensitivity, exposure to irritants and allergens result in strong reactions in the airways which prevent the lungs from taking in more air. Especially bad episodes of this constriction and inflammation in the respiratory system are called “asthma attacks.” These episodes can be triggered by a number of environmental stimulants such as pollen, dander, dust, warm air, cold air, and dust.
