Relief From Sinus Infection Problems

A sinusitis infection may start off simple: runny nose, cough, and congestion. But when it is not taken care of in time, it can lead to much more severe symptoms.

Sinusitis infections are generally caused by a cold or an allergy. When a cold or allergy occurs, swelling of the sinus cavity lining takes place. When bacteria enter the sinus cavities, they attack the swollen lining which then causes greater inflammation. The cilia is a part of the sinuses which usually flushes out the bacteria and mucus. When a great amount of inflammation occurs, the cilia can no longer function as it should and so the bacteria and mucus end up becoming trapped in the cavities and as a result the sinusitis infection transpires.

In general, the symptoms of an acute sinusitis infection may include cough, congestion, facial pain and pressure, headache, green nasal discharge, and postnasal drip. When the sinusitis infection lasts for twelve or more weeks it is known as chronic sinusitis and can have added symptoms such as loss of sense of taste and smell and fatigue may also be experienced. Other symptoms may also occur depending on which sinus cavity that the infection lies in.

I’ve been sick for 2 weeks and a few days ago I saw my doctor. I thought it was just really bad allergies. She said, yes, it’s really bad allergies and I have a severe sinus infection on top of it. She put me on Amoxicillian 875 mg, twice per day, and 2 prescrption allergy meds, twice per day. I’m still dry coughing and I cannot stand it! I’ve been through just about all the cough syrups there is, plus Alka Seltzer Sinus and Allergy, Sudaphed PH, Drixoral, regular Alaverts, Delysm and everything I can think of and I’m SO sick of this cough. Is there anything I can honestly get relief by taking???? I’m so sick of cough drops that as soon as they tough my mouth I’m nauseated from them.
Does the apple cider and water thing really work?
Any other remedies you all may know of to calm this hack?
Also, I’ve already tried Benadryl and Max. Benadryl both, no luck for the cough relief department.

Sinus Infection or allergies?

PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY:

I have all the symptoms of post-nasal drip: sore throat, nasal congestion, runny nose, slight cough, nausea, constantly clearing throat and swallowing, spitting up mucus and halitosis. Also, I am constantly blowing my nose (clear mucus) and I noticed that when I bend my head forward, I can feel the mucus dripping down my nose… However, I am not sure if it caused by allergies or a sinus infection.Towards the end of July, I went to a general clinic and the doctor told me I maybe had a sinus infection. He prescribed me some Nasonex and told me to take it for 2 months and see if it helped. If it didn`t work, he gave me a referral to see an ENT doctor. I used the Nasonex for about 6 weeks, and it helped at first, somewhat eliminating my symptoms. However, the relief was short-lived, as most of them came back and I also started suffering from nosebleeds. These are possible side effects of Nasonex and the box says to stop using it if they occur. I stopped using it and now, my symptoms are worse than ever. I took an appointment with the ENT but the soonest they could see me is November 4th. I cannot wait that long because the symptoms are really bothering me. So, basically, my question is

1. DO YOU THINK I HAVE ALLERGIES OR A SINUS INFECTION?
2. IF IT IS ALLERGIES, ARE THEY CAUSED BY POLLEN OR MAYBE A FOOD ALLERGY, WHAT COULD IT BE?

Some people experience chronic sinusitis despite adequate therapy with antibiotics and drugs for relief of symptoms. Those that have a CT scan indicative of sinus infection as well as those with any complications of sinusitis may benefit from sinus surgery.

The surgery is performed endoscopically using the same fiberoptic nasopharyngoscope used to make the diagnosis.

Allergies and Yeast Infection, Connected?

Have you recently found yourself developing seasonal sneezing and wheezing? Or maybe some lactose intolerance? If so, you may have developed allergies due to yeast.

Recent studies show that while allergies can have many causes, they’re not necessarily geography, time of year, or getting older.

When you develop allergies, consider the fact that a yeast infection, or yeast overgrowth, is the actual underlying factor.

How to Cure Sinus Infection Naturally – Learn How to Cure Sinus Infection Naturally

Sinus infection, also known as sinusitis, is an inflammation of the sinuses or cavities near the bone of the nose. This inflammation leads to the trapping of mucus in the sinus and the nasal membrane. Thus, a tremendous pressure is exerted on the sinus walls causing pain and physical discomfort. How to treat sinus infection needs to be discussed in detail.

Treatment of sinus infections
differ according to the type of infection. Sinus infections can be classified into three categories, depending on the duration of occurrence, namely – acute infection (lasting up to three weeks); chronic infection (lasting 3-8 weeks, or even more); and recurring infection which refers to the frequent sinus attacks in the duration of one year.

There are numerous options available for treating sinus infections. Decongestants and sprays available in the market can provide relief from the pain. But they come with a glitch – they can not be used for chronic sinus infections. They are effective only if used for a few days. Nasal rinses with salt-water solution, mucolytic agents, steroids are some of the other possible treatments.

TERRIBLE sinus infection, how can i find relief?

I have an aweful sinus infection. I went to the doctors yesterday and got put on an anit biotic. Today is day 2.

The main problem is the headach due to all the pressure. Its TERRIBLE. I have to study for finals which are next week and I can hardly read the pages of my text book without feeling unexplainable amounts of pain in my eyes and head.

I have tried so many over the counter meds (forgive my spelling, musinex, sudafed – 3 different types of sudafed – regular, sinus headach, and ‘sinus and allergy’, tylenol allergy…) none of the over the counter meds are working.
