im allergic to cats, need help with medicine?

Question by : im allergic to cats, need help with medicine?
I went to a friends house a few days ago for the first time and they have 2 cats. I came out with a rash on my face and chest and when i have been around cats before they have caused me to sneeze and have watery eyes. i have allergy relief tablets which cover pet allergies and the recommended dose is 1 a day. but if i only go to their house on a saturday, would it be ok just to take a tablet on the saturday morning, or should i begin taking them a few days before??????

Natural allergy relief for cats?

Question by Jenny”o”: Natural allergy relief for cats?
Hi, I have a cat with allergy’s. His allergy’s makes his immune System hard to fight against common colds, so he gets congested and runny noises easily. I was wanting to know if there is any Natural remedies to help the little guy. I heard some herbs could help but wanted to know if anyone else has had experience with this subject, or maybe knows about Natural relief for animals. Thanks for all the help =]

Allergy or Anti-Itch medication for cats?

This is not an emergency – and if I wasn’t dealing with a Spynx (hairless cat), I probably wouldn’t have even noticed it, the lack of hair on my cat lets me see everything on his skin.

My cat has two bumps (swollen – irritated areas) on the top of his head. I’m thinking they are bug bites or something else is causing irritation. I have given him a shower with oatmeal shampoo, taken his temperature (which was normal) – he is eating, drinking, being playful, and using the bathroom fine – I’m not noticing any swollen lymph nodes or anything showing me he is sick.

Anyways, I’m wondering if any stores (like PetSmart, PetCo – these are the only two by my house), sell any sort of itch relief cream for cats – I’ve seen him itch it once which could be contributing to the swollen areas. My regular vet doesn’t open back up until Monday, and since he seems to be perfectly fine except for the bumps I do not want to take him to the emergency vet for this. If anyone knows of any relief/remedies for him please let me know! One of my cats got a high temperature from being stung by a scorpion and they just gave her a benedryll shot, I know of other people who give their dogs benedryll when they get stung by insects (I live in AZ, lots of scorpion/bee bites in the summer), but I’m not sure if this is safe or not. I don’t even know if this is an insect bite, but it seems to be itchy for him.

What can I do for my cats inhalant allergies?

My cat has allergies year round and her nose drips non-stop all year unless she is sleeping. What can I give to help her get some nasal relief?

Natural allergy relief for cats?

My boyfriend has asthma and he is most allergic to cats (and I just happen to own a cat). I’ve tried keeping the windows open all day, vacuuming consistently, keeping the cat out of my room, but there just isn’t any relief for him, he still wheezes, sneezes and gets incredibly congested…..

He stays in my room whenever he comes over and I try my best to change my clothes after I’ve touched the cat before I have any contact with him or things in my room. Getting rid of the cat just really isn’t an option, but I’m curious if anyone has any pointers. Like does the air purifiers out there work? Can he get some kind of allergy shots? etc…

My cat makes excessive cerumen and he sneezes 10-20 times a day. We get regular follow-up with a vet and are treating him for a yeast infection in his ears. She suspects he has allergies. In the meantime, has anyone tried an air purifier or does anyone think an air purifier will be helpful? I know doctors suggest it for human allergies and my vet says cats can be allergic to the same things humans are.

My family owns one cat and two dogs…despite the fact that I am allergic and they are all very well aware of this.
We tried shots…they didn’t work.
They use this filter that is suppose to collect all the hairs going around in the house. I still, nonetheless, get allergies.
I’m kinda to young to live on my own, so I am pretty much stuck at their house for a couple years.
I take allergy relief medicine quite often, despite the fact that I hate having to take medication!
I feel like this is definitely weakening my immune system because I catch whatever sickness anyone around me has. I also feel like I’m starting to get asthma, which I think is because of this.
My family is too ignorant to get rid of the animals…it’s as if they love the animals more then me…which I already figured is true.
I stay out of my house a lot, because when ever I’m in it, I have trouble breathing and I get hives and rashes and itching eyes and blow my nose 24/7!!! It’s really no fun!
So now since you have the background of all of this… my question is; what are the possible outcomes of this? As in, what are some of the worst things that will happen to my health because of the fact that my body is always fighting these allergies?!

I know for sure my cats have allergies and I know a air purifier helps with their allergies. But which one should be better….a purifier or a humidifier?
