On a scale of 1-10, how much would an air purifier help my mild cat allergies?

And if I bathed my cat once a month, take medication, and got an air purifier, would my allergies go away? (With a shorthaired cat?)
I can pet my neighbour’s cat for a short time and stay in their house but I would have to wash my hands immediately after petting the cat.

If the cat is kept OUT of the bedroom and your air purifier is in the room with you there, you should be able to be fine.
Remember to check with your doctor, they’ve gotten some good increases in treatments lately for allergies. You need to be up to date on what’s available for you there.
You could also go to an ear nose and throat specialist for allergy shots. They have had great success with these shots as they build up your tolerance to what you are allergic to. I would talk to your doctor about this and see what he says.
I’d say that it would be about a 5.
