My 6 year old French Bulldog Leo has a Staph allergy (i.e. an allergy to Staph bacteria that normally covers dogs and people and is usually harmless unless injury or weakened immune system is involved)that has resulted in a horrendous skin condition: loss of hair over large amounts of his body, crusty skin, shedding skin cells by the piles. He is on steroids to control itching (which I hate and only provides little relief anyway). The only treatment that my vet suggests (and the only treatment my research has turned up) is allergy shots by a vet specializing in dermatology — the nearest of whom is over 60 miles away. Anyone know of holistic treatments for this condition or at least treatments that may ease his suffering?
