Could heat be a cause ones skin being itchy?
I have noticed my skin being itchy since about March.
During the winter, my joints ache, so I take hot showers and use a heated blanket at night to help with the aches and pain. I noticed in March, the skin on my legs started itching when I had the electric blanket on me. Stopped using it, but still was a little itchy. Was real itchy after a hot shower, so I started turning it down to warm and I wasn’t as itchy.
Since the summer has started, I am real itchy, especially on my legs. Sometimes my arms or belly itch but it seems more concentrated on my legs and parts of my feet. I have scratched til I have bled. I have tried lotions and creams from the cheap kind to the expensive kind, yet only get temporary relief. I have tried Coritzone cream, temporary relief. I have tried Itch-X which has benzocaine in it or something. Again, Temporary relief.
I am sick of scratching.
As for allergies, the only thing I am aware of having is Ragweed/Hayfever and allergic reaction to Pennicillin (haven’t had that in 25 years) My diet hasn’t changed, I don’t have any pets so fleas are not an issue.
Please help!
I have taken Benedryl at night and it helps a bit, but I don’t want to be dependent upon that.
If I knew what was causing the itching then I could get to the source of the problem, not mask it

You could be allergic to heat. It’s not uncommon, I myself am very sensitive to heat and can pass out if I get too hot. Yes heat can cause allergic reactions on the skin because of the UVs that the sun gives out. Please be careful when working outside
I have had something like this before commonly known as “heat rash.” The best fix would be something like hydro-cortizone cream or benadryll cream. I also itched in my sleep when I had this causing me to bleed, so I would recommend wearing cloth gloves of some kind to sleep in to prevent this. Good luck!
