My vet said my chihuahua mix has flea allergy dermatitis and we have taken all the proper steps to rid the house of fleas, he is on advantage, and takes antibiotics which the vet prescribed. But he is still itching like crazy, he bites his legs and tries to make me scratch him on the bottom of his back, and if i don’t scratch him he growls and kicks me with his back legs. I feel horrible that he has so deal with the constant itching. Ever since the first day i got him he was on flea medication. He has bad rashes on his belly. What else can i do for him so he can have some relief? I have called the vet and told him the situation and he just prescribed more meds. I have also bought some anti itch spray from the pet store but he hates it and it is only a very short solution. Can fleas still be jumping on him while he is outside even tho he is on advantage?? There is lots of dogs that live in the condo complex and they all play on the grass and the walking path.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
!!
i don’t feed my dog the cheap food, he eats merrick which is natural and organic. there is no dye in it. Also is there a test my vet can do to determine if my dog has food alergies?

Is your dog sneezing and rubbing his eyes with his paws? If your answer was YES, there is a good chance your pet has allergies. They are no different from you and me. They can suffer from all types of allergies including food, environmental and seasonal. If your pet is scratching, itching and sneezing there are home remedies that can help to relieve these symptoms and alleviate their suffering.
Giving your dog a bath in cool colloidal oatmeal will help to soothe the itching. A dog that is constantly licking and scratching at his paws could be experiencing the affects of allergies. A cool bath with Epson salts can help relieve the itching. Do not allow him to drink the water. You may need to change your dogs’ diet. There is a chance that he is reacting to one or more of the ingredients in his pet food. If you are feeding him table scraps, this could be another reason. Not only does this have the potential to cause his allergies, it can also mess up his digestive system, which will lead to other problems. Try to watch his routine throughout the day. There is a chance you will see him react to something, either in the house or out in the yard. Consider the possibility that he is allergic to his bedding. Some dogs have an allergic reaction to cottons and wools. If he starts to experience a reaction when he is on his bed, you will want to change out the bed or type of fabric that covers it. When it comes to your pet’s wellness you strive for excellence just like you do for your family. Rightfully so, as most pets are a part of the family and seeing them unhappy or ill is difficult for everyone to watch. Of course we look for remedies for the problem by visiting the vet, getting a diagnosis and medication to help the situation. One of the most common of these situations is dog allergies. Pet owners go to great lengths to find allergy relief for dogs with the hopes that something will have a positive effect and provide relief.
Dogs can have an allergy related to food, the environment and even seasonal allergies much like people. These allergies bring on symptoms of itching, often so severe that a dog will spend much of his day scratching himself in turn causing hair loss or even hot spots. Another symptom is sneezing.

As stated by the Environmental Protection Agency, analyses completed in the US and Europe have identified that many families spend more than 90% of their hours inside and that the amount of pollutants inside is more substantial than it is outside. Indoor air pollution, such as smoke, pet dander, dust mites, mold spores and pollen can easily trigger allergic reactions, relief from which an allergy elimination air purifier can provide. Air purifiers remove air pollutants, and are on the market as whole-house solutions or individual room models. Some are likewise chosen for controlling odors. The three most popular varieties of air purifiers used are uv light, Hepa filters and ionic or electrostatic technology.
UV devices are used more often inside commercial spaces, in particular hospitals and laboratories. Powerful Uv light gets rid of germs and bacteria, including airborne viruses, making these systems remarkably effective towards illness. Only those contaminants that occur in close contact with the Ultraviolet bulb are wiped out, but others that come near it are modified to render them unable to reproduce. They usually are only successful in locations in close proximity to the light and are energy consuming and pricey. Although exceptional at eliminating disease-causing germs and viruses, Uv models are not necessarily as valuable as an allergy relief air purifier mainly because they really don’t succeed in opposition to dust or pet dander.
