Mold Allergy – How Mold Can Make You And Your Family Unwell

Article by Magssno

There are millions of people around the world who suffer from an allergy of one type or another. Just like all allergies a mold allergy is started by the immune system responding and overreacting to an allergy source, in this case mold spores.

A mold allergy will produce similar types of symptoms found with many different allergies of the upper respiratory system i.e. runny of stuffed up nose, cough, itchy eyes, nose and throat, sneezing and watering eyes – all of which spell misery for the sufferer! However not everyone will suffer severe symptoms and it is a possibility that certain environments where there are increased concentrations of mold spores or even a particular time of year may influence the severity of mold allergy symptoms.

Common Treatments For Allergy Relief

Common Treatments For Allergy Relief

Article by S.Brooks

Allergies affect about 20% of the US population and can affect human lives due to the discomfort they bring. Children who suffer from allergic reactions all throughout the year may miss schooldays due to the discomfort of frequent sneezing, itchy eyes, throat and nose, hives, and sometimes stomach pain and vomiting, if the allergy is caused by food. Adults become unproductive at work during allergy attacks.

Allergies can be caused by a variety of substances, from food to pollen, animal dander (cat and dog hair), dust mites, cotton fiber, and so on. Although allergens can differ from one person to the next, the physical reactions are often the same. Allergic reactions happen when the body’s immune system releases antibodies called immunoglobulin E (IgE), which secrete histamines that cause the symptoms. It is the body’s way to get rid of the allergens which it considers as invaders.

Question by Fogjazz49-Retired: Natural Remedies for Mold and Dustmite Allergies?
Unlike others who are pollen sensitive, my worst allergies are to mold and dustmites. I work hard to keep my environment clean, but living in classic old city buildings means there is only so much I can do. I’m tired of walking around with red eyes and “allergy shiners” all the time. Nothing has really worked since they took Seldane off the market… Benadryl gives some relief but makes me so drowsy I can hardly work. Can’t afford expensive allergy shots,, don’t want to do cortisone, and I would rather use natural remedies anyway. Help?

Maybe I have a mold allergy?

Question by : Maybe I have a mold allergy?
I was in a house 3 days ago that had some mold growing on the back of the old carpet that had been ripped up 2-3 days before I was there. I only spent 3 hours there but after wards my right eye and right nostril would not stop running. The next day I awoke to both of my eyes severely swollen, blue around my eyelids, and both nostrils running. Like I said, it’s been 3 days, my eyes feel like every time I blink that I’ve got rubbing alcohol in them. The burning will NOT go away. I already went to my general doctor, who gave me antibiotic eye drops, however those are not helping. I’ve been taking Zyrtec-D since this started, a daytime sinus med, and benadryl, but nothing is relieving my symptoms. I’ve never been so miserable! I guess my question here is…what kind of doctor can I go to to get some sort of relief from these burning eyes?
