According to the Cleveland Clinic, “allergies are the immune system’s incorrect response to a foreign substance. Exposure to what is normally a harmless substance, such as pollen, causes the immune system to react as if the substance is harmful. Substances that cause allergies are called allergens. When you come into contact with an allergen, you may experience a number of allergic symptoms including itchy, watery nose and eyes; asthma symptoms such as wheezing and coughing; or hives.”

If you have indoor allergies, your allergy symptoms are likely caused by dust mite allergens, mold allergens and pet dander. While it may be easy to understand how molds and pets contribute to allergy symptoms, dust and dust mite allergens may be more difficult. Although there are many components in house dust to which people may be allergic, the biggest culprit is the dust mite. Every year over 35 million Americans register symptoms of allergy caused due to many reasons and take up different kinds of seasonal allergy treatment for relief. Some of the main reasons of these allergies are contamination of fresh air we need to breathe in, pollens, dust, food, etc.
Out of these few reasons not all are naturally harmful. Allergies are reactions of our immune systems to harmless substances called allergens. When our immune systems come in contact with these allergens through some way, the immune systems flare in reaction which leads to serious issues like swollenness, itchiness, sneezing, running nose, headache, burning and watery eyes.
